The NPQ in Leading Teaching (NPQLT) provides international school teachers with a comprehensive toolkit for enhancing classroom practice and pupil outcomes. The programme focuses on evidence-based teaching methods, including how to design effective lesson plans, implement impactful assessment strategies, and create inclusive environments that support diverse learning needs.
You’ll learn how to set high expectations for both pupils and staff, foster a culture of collaboration, and lead by example in developing consistently high-quality teaching standards across your school. In addition to core teaching methodologies, the NPQLT delves into using data to identify areas for improvement, adapting instruction to meet varied cultural and educational backgrounds, and embedding continuous professional growth within your team.
Best Practice Network’s global expertise and virtual learning environment mean you’ll receive guidance from experienced facilitators familiar with international contexts, gaining actionable insights tailored to the unique dynamics of international schools.
The NPQLT is a 12-month programme that includes three Face-to-Face events, 34 hours of online study, and time for independent learning.
The qualification is a structured, cyclical programme that begins with a Face-to-Face event, which can be attended in person or remotely from anywhere in the world.
Each cycle then progresses with an online course module, practice activities, and a formative assessment task, allowing you to build and apply new skills with immediate impact. The cycle concludes with in-school performance coaching, providing personalised support to help you implement your learning effectively. This approach combines flexibility with practical, in-depth learning tailored to the unique needs of educators in international school settings.
The programme concludes with an Impact Review and followed by a Summative Assessment Case Study.
The NPQ in Leading Teaching (NPQLT) empowers international educators with the skills and insights to lead high-quality teaching and elevate learning standards across their schools.
Designed for teachers with, or moving into, responsibilities in areas like curriculum planning, teaching quality, and instructional leadership, this qualification equips you to drive meaningful improvements in classrooms.
Best Practice Network provides continuous support through dedicated coaching and an interactive virtual learning environment, ensuring flexible access from anywhere in the world. Our programme draws on a wealth of global expertise from a network of schools, organisations, and universities, creating a learning experience that’s responsive to the unique needs of international education.
Skilled facilitators familiar with international contexts guide you through each module, helping you apply evidence-based practices that will make a real impact in your school.
